Event: Trump 2.0 Foreign Policy: An Annual Review

National Association of Scholars

President Donald Trump’s first year back in office has been marked by a series of consequential foreign policy decisions reshaping America’s global posture. From military action against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure to renewed trade negotiations and a high-level meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the administration has emphasized what it describes as “flexible realism” in advancing U.S. interests. At the same time, efforts to broker ceasefire arrangements in the Middle East, recalibrate NATO commitments, and prioritize competition in the Indo-Pacific and Western Hemisphere reflect a broader strategic reorientation. Major developments in Venezuela, Taiwan, and the Arctic further underscore the administration’s willingness to pair economic statecraft with security initiatives.

This event will examine the strategic logic behind these actions, assess the risks and opportunities ahead, and consider how the first year sets the trajectory for the remainder of the term.

Join the National Association of Scholars (NAS) on Tuesday, March 10, at 2 pm ET for "Trump 2.0 Foreign Policy: An Annual Review."
