Event: The New Energy Competition: China, America, and the Politics of Dependence

National Association of Scholars

War in the Middle East brought energy front and center to discussions of geopolitical risk in Eurasia as a whole. China is a leading carbon emitter and a leader in energy technology. How does China’s economic strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative incorporate energy politics into its geopolitical strategy for hegemony? How does America’s energy dominance and advanced technologies threaten China’s path to power and how does Beijing exploit the West’s climate politics for its own benefit?

This webinar brings together experts in energy economics and public policy to explore how environmental mandates, global supply chains, energy geopolitics, and AI affect geopolitical competition in the 21st century and America’s economic revival.

Join the National Association of Scholars (NAS) on Tuesday, March 31, at 2 pm ET for "The New Energy Competition: China, America, and the Politics of Dependence."

This event will feature Joel Griffith, Senior Fellow at American Freedom; Diana Furchtgott-Roth, Distinguished Fellow at the Energy Policy Research Foundation; and Ian Oxnevad, NAS Senior Fellow for Foreign Affairs and Security Studies;

This event will be moderated by Lilla Nóra Kiss, NAS Senior Fellow for International Affairs & Academic Integrity.
