The Perils of College Philanthropy

In this week’s Pope Center Clarion Call I discuss the Center’s latest paper, “Games Universities Play” by Martin Morse Wooster. Wooster has written extensively about philanthropy (which often turns out less happily than the individuals who accumulated the wealth wanted) and in this paper he examines the tension between the desires of donors and the agendas of college administrators.
