In this week's Pope Center Clarion Call, Rich DeMillo (author of the excellent 2011 book Abelard to Apple) writes about our accreditation system for colleges and universities. He doubts that it will survive in the new world of higher education because it imposes high costs with little or no compensating value. Something better will emerge to identify higher education programs that have worth, but just what that new system will look like, no one knows.
