What Hath Crow Wrought?

George Leef

In this week's Pope Center Clarion Call, Duke Cheston takes a look at Arizona State University's high-profile president, Michael Crow. Under his administration, ASU has grown into the largest state university in the country. He has accomplished some innovative things. However, it does not seem evident that the funds flowing into the university are being used more efficiently for the education of students. Administrative bloat has not been tamed. Furthermore, Crow has advanced some "mission creep" notions, such as that flagship universities have some special expertise in making the economy stronger.
