Video of Common Core Debate

National Association of Scholars

On February 26, 2015 NAS president Peter Wood and Kathleen Porter-Magee, the superintendent and chief academic officer at the Partnership for Inner-City Education, debated the pros and cons of the Common Core state standards at Saint Francis College. The debate was moderated by Peter Leibman, a professor of education at Saint Francis College. This is the second debate Wood has participated in at Saint Francis College. The first debate took place in October of 2014 between Sol Stern, author of Breaking Free: Public School Lessons and the Imperative of School Choice, and Peter Wood.
