The Conundrums of Grading College Students

Anyone who has taught a college course knows the problems that come with the need to assign grades: the excuses, the pleading, the close-calls, the possibility of causing trouble for yourself, and so on.

In this week's Pope Center Clarion Call, Professor Mike Shaughnessy reflects on those problems and laments that administrations tend to make them worse rather than trying to minimize them.
