So here we have some eminent common sense from a student journalist writing in the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa's Crimson and White:student surveys, he advises the administration are usually about consumerism, not education. Ask most students, he notes, whether they want rigorous classes or a fun school and they'll take the latter. Of course they will, but is what they want the same as what's good for them? Not if college is about getting a serious education.
Bravo to this student, but I wonder what effect his observations will have at the UA provost's office.
