NAS Chairman Steven Balch was interviewed last month by local NPR radio host, Gregory Bird, on the WTGD Morning Show. Steve recorded this interview during his recent visit to Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and much of the program focuses on the importance of including Western Civilization courses in the American undergraduate curriculum. Apart from addressing reasons why college students should be taught about their own civilization's history, Steve also discussed the principles behind the founding mission of the National Association of Scholars (NAS) and touched on some of his personal reasons for supporting the work of NAS.
