Sociological Gender Classification Update: No Comment

Glenn Ricketts

Last week, I took stock of the American Political Science Association’s present research focus – remember that they’re thinking about mandatory citations of female authors in refereed articles and doctoral dissertations? – and decided that I wasn’t interested in renewing my membership. Lots of politics at the APSA, precious little “science” these days.

But after reading about the American Sociological Association’s current attempt to reformulate “gender categories,” (see here at IHE) I don’t think I’ll be applying to ASA either.

Max Weber does not rest in peace.
