Researchers contacted the National Association of Scholars seeking collaborators on a study. Below is their description and request.

Dr. Craig Frisby (University of Missouri, Columbia) and Dr. William O'Donohue (University of Nevada, Reno) are co-editing a major text that critically evaluates the history, current models, psychometric applications, and supporting data of the "cultural competence" construct in applied school, counseling, and clinical psychology. No other textbook of this type has been published, as most texts that deal with the cultural competency construct are advocacy works. We suspect that our approach to scientifically studying this construct may lead to conclusions that contradict current thinking and practices. The text includes chapters from a wide variety of scientific disciplines. We are particularly interested in authors who have expertise in quantitative behavioral genetics, social psychology, sociology, and cultural anthropology. We have attached a prospectus for the work, which has been approved for publication by Springer Publishers, and we anticipate publication of the work in 1 year. If you are interested in being a contributor to this work, please contact us using the information below:
