Peter Wood Interviewed on Common Core

National Association of Scholars

Barbara Hollingsworth interviewed NAS President Peter Wood on the damage the Common Core is doing to American education. Wood emphasized that it isn't just an objection in theory, but that the Common Core already is doing real harm to students:

Now we’ve got the standards and the results of the tests that go with the standards. And [National Assessment of Educational Progress] NAEP scores nationwide show that the states that most strongly endorsed the Common Core have seen some of the biggest drops.

The interview builds upon longer works published by Peter Wood on the Common Core, including Drilling through the Core: Why Common Core Is Bad for America and Common Core: Yea and Nay.
