International Branch Campuses: Wise Investments or Just a Fad?

In today’s Pope Center Clarion Call, Duke Cheston examines the phenomenon of international branch campuses.

They have soaked up a lot of university resources and some have been closed down. Who gains from them and do the benefits outweigh the costs? The university officials behind them claim that they are good educational investments, but then they say that about all sorts of other projects, such as green dorms and diversity offices.
