NYU professor Lawrence Mead, author of the recent Academic Questions article "The Other Danger...Scholasticism in Academic Research," did a feature last month for the BBC on welfare reform in the UK. He talked about the United States' "tough love" method of getting the unemployed into jobs and off of welfare, and he traveled to Liverpool to determine whether that same approach could work in the UK.
