He has appointed another far-left academic to a federal post, this time Duke professor Cathy Davidson (a Gang of 88 member) to the National Council on Humanities. My Pope Center colleague Jay Schalin writes about it here. It seems that Davidson is interested in the humanities mainly as a platform for advancing the progressive/statist view of the world.
